ABOUT THE TEAM

The Associate Data Analyst will join Sustainalytics’ Digital Operation team, which is responsible for managing the flow of data and research through Sustainalytics internal information systems. This technologically focused position covers a broad range of tasks, combining independent work and collaboration with various stakeholders to support the delivery of timely and high-quality research to clients.

In this role, you will be primarily responsible for implementing processes that retrieve, update, and quality-assure Sustainalytics’ operating data. You will also support key pillars of the team’s 2020 strategy to improve efficiency and quality in its data infrastructure, including process automation, development of quality-assurance and -monitoring capabilities, and integration with a new Data Warehouse architecture. Thus, we are looking for talent that is both process-oriented and technically trained, capable of translating complex processes into technical functionality, that delivers clean data through our systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use database, scripting and reporting knowledge and skills (SQL, Python, PowerBI) to automate the operational activities within the team
  • Support and monitor the timely delivery of research by maintaining close communication with research and client-relations teams and monitoring the deadlines of specific deliveries. For this purpose, you will collaborate with colleagues from all over the world to ensure alignment and quality of the data delivery.
  • Support the client facing teams by providing information about the research entities existing in our products, considering the business perspective. You will collaborate with colleagues from all over the world to ensure the timely support for clients’ or prospects’ inquiries and deliveries.
  • Collaborate with other operational sub-teams to innovate the way we deliver data in order to achieve operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with ICT team to maintain the current internal databases that our products rely on.

QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for this position, you need to have:

  • Experience in working with relational databases (strong SQL experience);
  • Knowledge and meaningful experience with data management technologies (e.g., languages such as Python/pandas, R, SPSS, SAS, FOCUS);
  • Experience with (or willingness to learn) developing reports in business-intelligence technologies such as such as PowerBI or Tableau;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, combined with meticulousness and attention to details;
  • Proficient business English oral and writing skills (the company’s working language is English);
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good knowledge of other MS Office tools (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Additionally, any of the following qualifications/skills would be a plus:

  • Master or bachelor’s degree in related discipline (data science, ICT, business, finance);
  • Ability to work towards strict deadlines and high-quality standards;
  • Flexible mindset; adaptable to a constantly shifting work environment;
  • Financial markets knowledge;
  • Passion about global sustainability issues like environment protection or human rights.
