The Product Strategy and Development (PSD) team oversees product development and innovation; ensures methodological integrity and consistency across product lines; and manages the company’s product portfolio, in alignment with corporate priorities. Sustainalytics is seeking a mid-level ESG professional. The role will include support responsibilities for the development and maintenance of a new and strategically important range of ESG products responding to the EU Sustainable Finance Action Plan, with a view of independently managing a subset of products over time.

Overall, this role requires someone who excels in a dynamic environment where there is a diversity of work and someone who enjoys working both independently and on a team. Day-to-day work will vary from reviewing research and analyzing data, to collaborating with internal teams (e.g. Research and ICT) to deliver high quality products, to monitoring industry trends and supporting client relations team. Eagerness to learn about all aspects of both product development and product management is required. As part of the PSD team, the candidate will join a vibrant community of Product Managers, representing the products internally and externally.


  • Supporting the lead product manager in developing and maintaining the product vision and roadmaps to ensure a competitive offering in line with evolving market needs and aligned with corporate priorities;
  • Developing a thorough understanding of the relevant regulations and how our research and products apply.
  • Liaising with product operations managers and internal stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, deliverables and objectives.
  • Ensuring the effective execution of the product roadmaps, liaising with internal stakeholders and acting as the project manager for certain product innovation releases;
  • Developing and maintaining internal and external product materials and documentation;
  • Representing the product line externally, responding to client and sales inquiries.


  • Master’s degree in related discipline (business, economics, environment and/or social sciences) or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience;
  • At least four years of relevant work experience;
  • Background and expertise in ESG compliance research and/or human rights considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with EU regulations and policy making is considered an asset;
  • Strong leadership skills and decisiveness;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with ease and manage competing interests;
  • Strong project management and execution skills;
  • Strong analytical skills and creative, problem-solving attitude;
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty;
