The Client Relations team is at the forefront of this. We work with a diverse range of leading asset managers and asset owners in developing and implementing tailored responsible investment strategies. The team operates in a lively, collaborative and supportive environment, where each day is different.


The Advisor in Sustainalytics’ Client Relations team primarily involves supporting client services and business development in France and potentially other markets. It includes support to the local team in Paris in advising institutional investors on their Responsible Investment strategies, supporting the implementation of Sustainalytics’ research and contributing to Sustainalytics’ market presence in France.

This position will allow you to obtain a thorough understanding of how Responsible Investment strategies can be implemented by investors, be part of a fast-growing and successful organization and work in an entrepreneurial and cross-cultural environment. Over time, you will significantly expand your business network, develop yourself as a trusted advisor, have the opportunity to quickly assume new responsibilities, become a company representative at industry and client events, and develop into an active participant in industry discussions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the Paris-based client advisory team to operationally and strategically manage and develop a portfolio of institutional investor clients:
    • Develop expert knowledge of Sustainalytics research and services
    • Support clients (asset managers and asset owners and global banks) in using Sustainalytics ESG data and research, respond to incoming client inquiries
    • Provide hands-on practical support to the team of client advisors on a variety of requests
    • Ensure that clients’ research needs are met, including content and delivery with a focus on service completeness
    • Maintain strong and complete KYC administration of clients in the region
  • Develop ESG and investment industry knowledge, and support creation of marketing material
  • Over time: Grow and strengthen client relationships by encouraging the use and expansion of Sustainalytics research and services; build your network within the banking, investment and responsible investment space and represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking groups


The ideal candidate needs to be an ambitious team player who can both succeed individually, as well as reaching goals through close collaboration with other team members. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial services and responsible investment industry in France
  • Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences);
  • Entry level -2 years of RI related (financial services) work experience is considered a strong asset;
  • Demonstrated passion for sustainability;
  • Strong interest in client servicing and commercial skills;
  • Adaptable, and the ability and willingness to learn and operate in fast growing industry
  • Efficient, well organized team-player with a high level of integrity
  • Fluency in English and French is a must;
  • Proficiency in Spanish is an asset;
  • Ability to understand and present complex concepts and methodologies s;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills;
  • Meticulousness and attentiveness to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently or with others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint;
