The Client Relations team works with a diverse range of leading asset managers and asset owners in integrating Sustainalytics' suite of research products and services into their investment processes. Our objective is to support clients in integrating material ESG considerations in their investment decision making. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of Sustainalytics’ growth story, focusing on the North America market. The Senior Associate on Sustainalytics’ Client Relations team will support relationship management in North America from our New York office, acting as a key member of an account team. Responsibilities principally involve contributing to maintaining, building and developing long-term relationships with a portfolio of existing clients comprised of important financial institutions in North America.

This position allows you to obtain a thorough understanding of how ESG factors can be implemented by investors, work in an entrepreneurial and cross-cultural environment, quickly assume new responsibilities and challenges, and become a company representative at industry and client events.


  • Work collaboratively to enhance the client experience, satisfaction, and retention for a portfolio of North-American based institutional and retail investors. This includes:
    • Contributing to the growth and strengthening of client relationships by encouraging the use and expansion of Sustainalytics’ research and services
    • Ensuring that clients’ research needs are met, including content and delivery
    • Developing expert knowledge of Sustainalytics research and services
    • Act as a main point of contact for inbound inquiries from Sustainalytics’ clients
  • Ensure that clients receive recurring or one-off, standard or customized services, reports, or deliverables
  • Closely collaborate with colleagues on the Client Relations team and internal research teams
  • Stay up to date on ESG market trends and developments
  • Represent the company at events and relevant networking groups

We work daily with colleagues in other North American offices, as well as Europe and Asia Pacific. The desire to work very closely with a diverse team from many different cultures is critical to working at Sustainalytics.


  • At least 5 years in the investment industry;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial services and ESG;
  • Strong client servicing and commercial skills;
  • Demonstrated passion for sustainability and alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values;
  • Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences);
  • Masters Degree or CFA designation a plus;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to lead meetings and presentations;
  • Ability to take the initiative and present complex products in an engaging way
