The Client Relations team works with a diverse range of leading asset managers and asset owners in integrating Sustainalytics' suite of research products and services into their investment processes. Our objective is to support clients in integrating material ESG considerations in their investment decision making.

The Senior Associate on Sustainalytics’ Client Relations team will support relationship management in North America from our New York-based office, acting as a key member of an account team. Responsibilities principally involve contributing to the development, building and maintaining of long-term relationships with a portfolio of existing clients comprised of many of the largest and most influential financial institutions in the US.

This position allows you to obtain a thorough understanding of how ESG factors can be implemented by investors, work in an entrepreneurial and cross-cultural environment, quickly assume new responsibilities and challenges, and become a company representative at industry and client events. We expect you to have strong communication skills and a can-do attitude. Your clear understanding of Sustainalytics’ research, our clients and their business drivers will be key to success.


  • Work collaboratively across internal teams to enhance the client experience, satisfaction, and retention for a portfolio of North American based investors
  • Contributing to the growth and strengthening of client relationships by encouraging the use and expansion of Sustainalytics’ research and services
  • Ensuring that client research needs are met, including content and delivery
  • Developing expert knowledge of Sustainalytics research and services
  • Manage distribution of high-quality services, reports and/or data deliverables
  • Support inbound inquiries from Sustainalytics’ clients
  • Conduct presentations and training sessions on Sustainalytics products & services
  • Stay up to date on ESG market trends and developments
  • Contribute to internal team growth and development through close collaboration with colleagues on the Client Relations team in key areas of market knowledge

We work daily with colleagues in other North American offices, as well as Europe and Asia Pacific. The desire to work very closely with a diverse team from many different cultures is critical to working at Sustainalytics.


  • Over 5 years in the investment industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial services and/or ESG
  • Strong client servicing and commercial skills
  • Ability to understand and present complex products in an engaging way
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and a drive for continued learning
  • Adaptability including comfort navigating uncertainty and managing competing priorities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values
  • Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences)
  • Masters degree or CFA designation a plus
