This is an exciting, newly-created role within a rapidly-growing firm. The Marketing Manager position specializes in the Commercial and Investment Banking (CIB) Channel and reaches across all aspects of marketing including content creation, email marketing, awareness campaigns, digital and traditional lead generation programs and other marketing activities designed to help our banking partners understand, market and sell our suite of sustainable finance products and services.

The sustainable finance field is emerging as one of the most direct ways to facilitate positive impact through the capital markets. And, Sustainalytics is at the heart of sustainability, a globally recognized market leader in the areas of ESG ratings, sustainability-linked loan services and second party opinions for green, social, climate and other sustainability bonds.

The Marketing Manager for our sustainable finance banking channel will have the ability to shape the new role, working closely with our Commercial and Research teams to deepen our bank relationships, position Sustainalytics as a preferred ESG partner and increase channel sales.


The ideal candidate needs to possess a solid understanding of the lending and underwriting functions of Corporate & Investment Banks, including the specific client-facing activities of the lending desks. The successful Marketing Manager must be able to design and implement digital and traditional integrated marketing programs, leveraging multiple marketing mediums to help CIBs strengthen their own businesses through the marketing and selling of Sustainalytics’ products & services.

The Marketing Manager must be able to work collaboratively with multiple teams to ensure marketing is closely aligned with client needs and commercial business objectives. He/She should have a proven track record in successfully generating product & service demand through digital methods. The Marketing Manager must be an excellent writer with an ability to articulate our value proposition, explain complex products in an easy-to-digest manner, construct compelling email outreach programs, and other forms of digital-based marketing to generate demand throughout the CIB channel.

Finally, the Marketing Manager must be data-driven with an ability to use data to inform his/her digital marketing strategies for the channel, working closely with members of the commercial, product and marketing teams.

The Marketing Manager for the banking channel presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing professional that understands bank lending desks, how they work with their clients and how to drive sales through the channel.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Define channel marketing strategy and its relationship or dependency w/other channels
  • Experience developing, executing, and measuring demand generation and lead nurturing
  • Metrics-driven mindset and excels in setting KPIs, tracking progress and achieving goals
  • Experience in marketing in an Agile environment
  • Advanced CRM user
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Develop integrated channel-specific digital lead gen campaigns in order to expand market share, pursue aggressive growth targets and achieve high ROI
  • Develop educational/informational programs to help channel participants understand various use cases for green, social and sustainability bonds, sustainability-linked loans, ESG ratings and other sustainable finance products
  • Position Sustainalytics as a preferred provider for CIBs and our ESG Risk Ratings as the standard metric for sustainable lending
  • Optimize our web site and digital footprint for the channel
  • Develop and manage online content and channel marketing materials including copywriting, editing and page design
  • Script, produce and distribute online explainer videos for the CIB channel
  • Coordinate educational webinars for CIB channel participants
  • Produce monthly digital newsletter to keep CIB partners up to date on sustainable finance matters and SFS news
  • Ensure quality and consistency of content across all marketing mediums
  • Work with sales, product and research teams to support business objectives
  • Support the development of compelling sales narratives and supporting materials that showcase SFS products, services and market leadership
  • Offer ideas to help CIBs create or expand their sustainable product offerings
  • Establish key metrics, measure results and report monthly
  • Support the company’s mission-based culture


  • 3-5 years of professional Marketing experience preferably in financial services
  • 1-2 years experience working in or marketing to Commercial & Investments Banks
  • A practical understanding of ESG/sustainability is preferred (but not required)
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Team player with proven collaboration skills
  • Entrepreneurial desire to be part of a growing team and company
  • Alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values
