The Client Advisory team within the Client Relations team works with a diverse range of leading asset managers and asset owners in integrating Sustainalytics' suite of research products and services into their investment processes. Our objective is to support clients in integrating material ESG (Environmental Social Governance) considerations in their investment decision making. Members of the team choose to work for Sustainalytics to have a positive impact on society in their daily work. We operate in a lively and collaborative environment, where each day is different.

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of Sustainalytics’ growth story, focusing on the North America market. The Manager will play an integral role in hiring, development, and retention of a strong team of relationship managers with ownership of a portfolio of existing clients made up of important financial institutions in the US, including some of the largest household names.

The Manager will also assume a leading role in relationship management in North America. Responsibilities principally involve developing and implementing strategies focused on the satisfaction, retention and growth of existing clients.

We expect you to demonstrate leadership skills and a can-do attitude. You will be an ambassador for Sustainalytics from early on. Your clear understanding of Sustainalytics’ research, our clients and their business drivers will be key to success.


  • Act as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of North-American based institutional and retail investors.

This includes:

o Supporting clients to build ESG strategies by providing advice and guidance on market best practices

o Ensuring that clients’ research needs are met, including content and delivery

o Developing expert knowledge of Sustainalytics research and services

o Developing expert knowledge of ESG market trends

o Growing and strengthening client relationships by encouraging the use and expansion of Sustainalytics’ research and services

  • Stay on top of market developments, identify and share opportunities with internal teams;
      • Closely collaborate with sales colleagues to further build Sustainalytics’ presence in the region;
      • Build a network within the investment industry and represent Sustainalytics at events, conferences, and networking groups.

      We work daily with colleagues in other North American offices, as well as Europe and Asia Pacific. The desire to work very closely with a diverse team from many different cultures is critical to working at Sustainalytics.


      • 5 - 8 years in a client-facing role in in the investment industry,
      • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial services and ESG;
      • Strong client servicing and commercial skills;
      • Ability to understand and present complex products, with experience in delivering presentations to both audiences of varying sizes;
      • Intellectual curiosity and a drive for continued learning;
      • Adaptability including comfort navigating uncertainty and managing competing priorities
      • Relevant local network would be a strong advantage;
      • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills;
      • Commitment to sustainability and alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values;
      • Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences);
      • Masters degree or CFA designation a plus
