ABOUT THE GOVERNANCE TEAM

The Corporate Governance team is responsible for maintaining the suite of corporate governance research and data products. The Corporate Governance products offer investors enhanced insights whether governance practices pose potential risks for the company’s financial success. The Corporate Governance ratings are also integrated in Sustainalytics’ market leading ESG research solutions.

The Corporate Governance Research & Ratings aims to assess a company’s corporate governance structures, practices, decision-making and behaviours, in order to understand whether a company is a good long-term steward of investors’ capital.

POSITION PURPOSE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The manager leads the Enhanced Ratings analysts team in its mission to provide high quality insights and thought leadership on corporate governance.

  • Build and strengthen a deep understanding of Corporate Governance in the larger Corporate Governance and ESG team, as well as among commercial colleagues
  • Coordinate research, analysis and ratings of corporate governance policies and performance of publicly traded and private companies
  • Lead projects to develop and implement quality assurance activities;
  • Support product innovation through ratings methodology development;
  • Research global corporate governance trends and lead the development of intellectual capital and thought leadership through report-writing and public-facing activities
  • Respond to client questions or inquiries from issuers
  • Coordinate, evaluate and coach a team of corporate governance analysts;
  • Ensure optimal resource planning and drive capacity building initiatives;
  • Define, monitor, report KPIs and coordinate improvement projects;


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ experience in research (ideally Corporate governance), with at least 2 years’ experience in financial research;
  • 2+ years` experience in people management
  • Master’s degree in related discipline (business, finance, economics, law);
  • Excellent oral and written English language skills (working language is English)
  • Demonstrated passion for sustainability
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Excellent business writing skills
  • Meticulousness and attentiveness to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Resourceful and independent;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Strong Excel skills.
