POSITION PURPOSE & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an exciting opportunity for someone in the financial services industry in Hong Kong to lead the commercial development for Sustainalytics in Hong Kong and China in the fast growth sustainable financing sector and developing deep relationships with the world’s most important banks and companies.

In this role your core responsibility would be to work with banks to provide sustainable finance solutions to their clients. You will also be responsible for managing and expanding our relationships with leading global underwriters, lenders and corporates, turning qualified opportunities into sales.

You will also gain profile within the sustainable finance market through speaking opportunities, networking and engagement in market development. The ideal candidate has interest and experience in both financial services and sustainability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to and implement the SFS business development strategy;
  • Act as a trusted advisor to underwriters and lenders on how to integrate sustainable finance solutions into their product offering;
  • Grow and maintain a robust sales pipeline;
  • Support other sales team members in a team-based selling setting;
  • Respond to requests for proposals;
  • Be the team’s expert on Sustainable Finance in Hong Kong and China, provide guidance to management, product development and execution on the needs, requirements and regulatory changes of your assigned markets;
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking groups;
  • Build, maintain and extend professional networks;
  • Further develop ESG and Sustainable Finance industry knowledge.


QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will be a genuine team player who can reach objectives individually, as well as through close collaboration and coordination with other team members, based on Sustainalytics’ relationship-focused consultative sales philosophy. The candidate should have the following qualifications:

  • Alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values;
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in commercial banking;
  • 5 to 10 years related work experience;
  • Sales experience highly desired;
  • Commercial mindset, innovative and entrepreneurial, with a keen interest in sales;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills;
  • English fluency required;
  • Fluent Mandarin language skills required;
  • Monthly travel to other financial centres across APAC and travel to Europe or North America a few times per year required; and
  • A related degree (finance, business) desired
