This position presents an exciting opportunity to manage, implement and oversee product operations our flagship ESG Risk Ratings product and our new Impact Product. You will join a dynamic and strategically important Product Operations team within Product Strategy Development team and contribute to the development and implementation of ESG products. The product operations team is responsible for implementation and maintenance of our ESG products and oversees the design, automation and delivery of ESG research to our clients via our platform, API and data feeds. The product operation team collaborates with our research, product management and IT teams to bring product features to life. The ideal candidate will have 8 plus years of experience in product operations and / or product development in a financial services industry.

Product Operation Manager will assume a manager role and will champion the implementation, product enhancement and feature releases of our ESG products. The role includes people management responsibilities where Senior Product Operations Manager manages a team of 3-4 associates responsible for operations of products within our ESG product suite.


  • Act as our ESG product, systems and process expert and own product operations and development process.
  • Act as an extension of Product Managers to oversee the implementation of product roadmap and maintenance of product processes.
  • Responsible for product quality and ensure product design, systems and research produces high quality output.
  • Work closely with product manager, research and IT teams to translate product features into clear requirements for implementation by these team.
  • Lead strategic projects to enhance and improve current products, quality, systems and features.
  • Collaborate with product operations and development teams – methodology, operations, IT to bring product features to market.
  • Manage a team of 3-4 product operations associates supporting products within the ESG Risk Rating product.


  • Masters degree in related discipline (business, economics or finance) or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience;
  • Prior experience in product operations in financial services industry is a plus.
  • Strong product management, stakeholder management and execution skills;
  • People management experience is a must;
  • Alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values;
  • Presentation skills (both in spoken and written formats), e.g. strategic plan development, ppt skills, client interaction skills;
  • A genuine team player who can achieve objectives through close collaboration and coordination with others (including technology, data & content operations, client services).
