This position presents an exciting opportunity to manage, implement and oversee product operations for our flagship ESG Risk Ratings product and our new Impact Product. You will join a dynamic and strategically important Product Operations team and contribute to the development and implementation of ESG products. The product operations team is responsible for implementation and maintenance of our ESG products and oversees the design, automation and delivery of ESG research to our clients via our platform, API and data feeds. The product operation team collaborates with our research, product management and IT teams to bring product features to life. The ideal candidate will have experience in both product operations and product development in a financial services industry. Product Operations team is part of Product Strategy and Development team that also include Product Management team. We will be hiring two positions, Product Operation Manager and Product Operation Senior Associate.

Product Operation Manager will assume a manager role and will champion the implementation, product enhancement and feature releases of our ESG products. The role may include people management responsibilities she/he manages a team of 1-2 associates responsible for operations of sub-products within our ESG product suite.

Product Operation Senior Associate will support the Product Operations manager and/or independently lead the implementation, product enhancement and feature releases of our ESG products.


  • Act as our ESG products systems and process expert, and own product operations and development processes.
  • Implement product roadmap, and oversee maintenance and documentation of these processes.
  • Work closely with product manager, research and IT teams to translate product features into clear requirements for implementation by these team.
  • Collaborating with IT, research and other operational teams to estimate resources and timelines for bringing new features to the market. Project manage the delivery of new product features.
  • Develop and implement quality process, and monitor quality across the product value chain;
  • Contribute to strategic projects to enhance and improve current products, systems and features.


  • At least 3-5 (senior associate) or 5-7 (manager) years of relevant work experience in product operations management.
  • Experience related to application of ESG research in investment process;
  • Master’s degree in related discipline (business, economics or finance) or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience;
  • Experience developing and executing an implementation plan for a product vision and strategy is considered an asset;
  • Strong product/project management and execution skills. Experience with lean or agile product management techniques, and in building and implementing the processes and systems required to support a product is an asset;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; working experience in culturally diverse environments is a plus;
  • A genuine team player who can achieve objectives through close collaboration and coordination with others (including technology, data & content operations, client services);
  • People management experience (relevant for manager-level);
  • Alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values.
