POSITION PURPOSE

At the forefront of Sustainalytics’ business growth, the Client Relations team works with a diverse range of leading asset managers and asset owners in integrating Sustainalytics' research products and services into their investment processes. The objective of the Client Relations team is to educate the market on Sustainalytics’ suite of ESG research, evaluate prospective client’s requirements, and recommend appropriate solutions.

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of Sustainalytics’ growth story, focusing on the North America market. The (Senior)Associate role on Sustainalytics’ Client Relations team will principally involve working in support of our senior sales team. As you develop, you will take on more significant sales responsibilities in a leading role.

This position allows you to obtain a thorough understanding of how ESG factors can be implemented by investors, work in an entrepreneurial and cross-cultural environment, quickly assume new responsibilities and challenges, and become a company representative at industry and client events.

We expect you to have strong communication skills and a can-do attitude. Your clear understanding of Sustainalytics’ research, our clients and their business drivers will be key to success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Client Relations team by contributing to the business development growth via:
    • Support and eventually lead business development conversations
    • Responding to requests for proposals
    • Develop ad-hoc presentations and reports
  • Stay on top of market developments, identify and share product innovation opportunities
  • Build a network within the investment and responsible investment space and represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking groups
  • Work with other departments (Client Advisors, Legal, Data Services, etc.) to ensure that all client requests / expectations are met;
  • Develop ESG and investment industry knowledge
  • Collaborate with and support the global Client Relations team.

We work daily with colleagues in other North American offices, as well as Europe and Asia. The desire to work very closely with a diverse team from many different cultures is critical to working at Sustainalytics.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-5 years in the investment industry;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial services (buy-side) and ESG;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills – including demonstrated presentation skills;
  • Interest in developing business development skills;
  • Ability to understand and present complex products;
  • Alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission vision and values;
  • Degree in related discipline (business, economics, finance, environment and/or social sciences);
  • Efficient, well organized team-player with a high level of integrity;
