POSITION PURPOSE

This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of Sustainalytics’ growth story, focusing on the UK market. The UK Client Relations team is split between the client advisory team which services our existing clients and the sales team which develops and grows our UK and Ireland business. This role is focused on existing clients with the aim to support and increase value for our diverse portfolio of financial institution clients.

The Manager will play an integral role in our work with leading asset managers and asset owners based in the UK and Ireland, supporting them in meeting their responsible investment objectives. The Manager will also assume a leading role in the development of the UK team of Client Advisors. Responsibilities principally involve developing and implementing strategies focused on the satisfaction, retention and growth of existing clients.

We expect you to demonstrate leadership skills and a can-do attitude. You will be an ambassador for Sustainalytics from early on. Your clear understanding of the industry, our clients and their business drivers will be key to success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of UK-based and global institutional and retail investor clients. This includes:
    • Supporting clients’ ESG strategy development by providing advice and guidance on market best practices;
    • Ensuring that clients’ research needs are met, including content and delivery;
    • Developing expert knowledge of Sustainalytics research and services;
    • Developing expert knowledge of ESG market trends; and
    • Growing and strengthening client relationships by encouraging the use and expansion of Sustainalytics’ research and services.
  • Stay on top of market developments, identify and share opportunities with internal teams.
  • Closely collaborate with sales colleagues to help strengthen our presence in the market and to ensure opportunities are managed efficiently and effectively.
  • Build a network within the investment industry and represent Sustainalytics at events, conferences, and networking groups.

We work daily with colleagues in other European offices, as well as North America and Asia-Pacific. The desire to work very closely with a diverse team from many different cultures is critical to working at Sustainalytics.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate needs to be a real team player with strong client service skills and a good understanding of the investor landscape and responsible investment trends. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 5 - 8 years in a client-facing role in in the investment industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of financial services and ESG.
  • Strong client servicing and commercial skills.
  • Ability to understand and present complex products, with experience in delivering presentations to audiences of varying sizes.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a drive for continued learning.
  • Adaptability including comfort navigating uncertainty and managing competing priorities.
  • Relevant local network would be a strong advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
  • Commitment to sustainability and alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values.
  • Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences).
  • Desired, not required: Masters degree or CFA certification.
